Creamy Tomato Smoked Sausage and Asparagus Tortellini
What You Need
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb smoked turkey sausage, sliced into bite sized rounds
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1 2/3 cups chicken broth
- 15 oz can of tomato sauce
- 3/4 cup heavy cream
- 18 oz cheese tortellini
- 1/2 lb fresh asparagus, trimmed and cut into bite sized pieces

What You Do
Heat olive oil in a large rimmed skillet over medium heat.
Add sausage and brown on both sides. Add garlic and stir until golden, about 20-30 seconds.
Add broth, tomato sauce, cream, tortellini, and stir to combine. Bring to a light simmer.
Cover and simmer over low heat for 10 minutes. Add the asparagus for the last 5 minutes of cooking. Simmer an additional 5 minutes until tortellini are tender and sauce has reduced.
